Notes from a buyer: NY Fashion Week – Rag & Bone
Fall 2012 will bring the Urban Dweller a travelogue of layers, where East meets West. Where the shimmery tailoring of Indian prints intermingle with classic herringbone. Felted wool long coats are peppered with a barrage of arrows. And as the Urban Woman returns from this dynamic landscape, where polka dots bounce through vertical and horizontal stripes, she will discover that old stand-by, leather, is still there. Re-invisioned by the journey. Bring on the cold!

Notes from a buyer: A day off in NYC.
A day off in NYC during one of my recent buying trips for Diani Boutique.
Breakfast: a chocolate mouse muffin from Eataly… when in Rome, in New York, why not?
Mid-morning snack: the photography exhibit at MoMA. Keeps the metabolism cooking.
Lunch: ABC Carpet and Home… interior design for more than just your apartment.
1. Mid-afternoon snack: instead of a full hi-tea, a cup at the Plaza Hotel Rose Club does the trick.
2. Dinner: mingle with the mannequins in the men’s department at Barney’s. They won’t sneak a peek as you text.
3. Bedtime: don’t leave your fedora on the bed. It’ll get crushed.
4. Oh, and along the way, despite all the concrete, there are flowers. Don’t forget to smell them.

I enjoyed watching the Oscars last night, and especially seeing the incredible fashion that is always so inspiring. The trend that overrides from my selection of favorites are blush tones of ivory, flesh and gold. I’m loving the figure-hugging silhouettes and feminine embellishing of feathers and beads on these gowns. The crimson red Giambattista Valli gown that Emma Stone wore was a stand-out for color and Hollywood Glamor flair. Pharrell Williams wins Best Dressed Man for his svelte black three piece suit with satin piping trim. The bow tie adds a classic touch. Did you watch the Oscars? If so, what was your favorite look?
