You Know You’re in Blighty (Britain) When…

I’m loving my few days back in London before heading to Paris for Fashion Week and I’m seeing all the standard things I grew up around with fresh eyes. It’s fun to be a tourist in a place you knew so well.

So glad they haven’t torn these out. They remind me of how we used to live before cell phones.

I love old tea cups. We always had tea in fancy heirloom cups growing up.

My mum used to drive around in a black mini. It always embarrassed me. What was I thinking?

You find the coolest graffiti in unexpected places in London.

And, oftentimes, the most tasteful.

It’s so easy to get around the city. You find yourself walking a lot, but a cab or bus are never far away.

And, then there’s Fish ‘n’ Chips. You may think we’re lacking on the cuisine front over here, but nowhere makes them like they do here. I highly recommend Poppies in Spitalfields.

Highlights from NYC Day 3 – Jewels, Jackets and Juices

There have been so many strong contenders for my picks in jackets and jewels. Gryphon always has innovative and edgy outerwear, so I’m always excited to see what they have for Fall. I’m on the hunt for great statement jewelry pieces too, so I’m sharing some current favorites. I also have to share my new furry fashion friend, Alfie, Assistant, Dylan in his cat ear hat (thanks, Eugenia Kim) and Victoria’s and my obsession for Dig Inn and their Serious Green raw juice.

Buying Highlights Day 2 – Rag and Bone

I was dying over Rag and Bone’s Fall runway collection and I love it even more now that I’ve seen it in person. They are tailoring masters and menswear and workwear touches are their signature. The dominant inspiration for this season was aviation with vintage flight suits and colors from various aviation jobs as a reference point. Here are some of the highlights.

A favorite look from the show.

Highlights from NYC – Day 1

You can always expect colorful and luxurious bags from British designer, Anya Hindmarch and her Fall ’13 collection was no exception. She’s been designing bags and clutches for the red carpet and chic-on-the-street for many years and her witty touches make her my go-to bag every season. Here are the highlights from the collection.

Jewel tones and ombre are huge for fall.

Tassels can’t be too big.

I’m dying over this bag!

Our best seller for several seasons, this cross body has all the signature Anya Hindmarch interior compartments. And this red is the perfect red.

Our youngest assistant, Dylan knows his bags.

Another personal favorite. This oversized clutch is perfect for the holiday season.

Anya loves her color smudging. This ombre grey is so chic!

This metallic clutch has an engraved sign on the clasp that says, “Break incase of an emergency”. Love!

We love you too, Anya.

Assistant, Victoria’s personal favorite in beautiful bordeaux.

The Buying Begins

I just touched down in NYC for a week of buying for DIANI. It may be cold, but there’s so many hot-off-the-runways looks to pick through, that I’m excited to get outside and hit the city. Over the next two weeks, you’ll get to see behind-the-scenes of all the hottest designers F/W ’13 collections as I spend time in NYC, London and Paris. Stay tuned and Happy Monday!

I’m totally obsessed with my new Golden Goose sneakers, not only cause they’re super comfortable. They’re metallic gold! All my sneaker fantasies just came true. Even better, sneakers aren’t just for weekends anymore. Add a cashmere sweater, a camel coat and some skinny jeans, and you’re sneaker chic look is complete!

Winter’s Bone

As I prepare for the fabulousness that is New York Fashion Week, I hope to see snow! It got me thinking about winter white and how luxurious and elegant it looks. Here’s my inspiration to bring on the white stuff.

Grey Scale

There’s no better transition color than grey for softening black and lightning the mood of winter. Inhabit just came out with the perfect snuggly wrap cardigan to throw over black leggings, boots and a white t-shirt. If you’re traveling anytime soon, like me, a must-have is Inhabit’s new cashmere travel blanket to throw over your shoulders on long flights and walks between cabs in NYC. Check them out at DIANI.

Green Thumbs

I LOVE gardens and luckily we have a decent sized piece of land looking across the canyon. Since our wedding reception is being held at our home, now is a perfect time to work on having the garden I always dreamed of. I’ve called on a team of like-minded experts to transform our outdoor space into a Provence inspired wonderland. I’ll share more pictures periodically as the project progresses. I’m so excited!

Texture and shades of green always inspire me in a garden and here are some of my starting points for the direction of our new garden.
