The hubby and I are starting to plan our honeymoon and whilst we’re picking a place that neither of us have been, we’ve been reminiscing about previous trips we’ve had together. Here’s some snap shots of a place I know very well and loved sharing with my man.
Our favorite lounging spot by the pool at our house on the beach.
If only you could smell this flower.
Hard to believe that at some times during the day, the ocean was too warm, so the pool was the more refreshing option to cool down.
The hubby’s go-to refreshment, the local beer – Tusker.
The local fishermen came by our house every day with whatever we’d requested the day before. Freshly caught and delicious.
Our dreamy beach house.
The ten step walk to the deserted white sandy beach.
The hubby in his color co-ordinated shirt to match the ocean.
On our long walk to see family who have a house down at the other end of the beach.
One of the local fisherman took us out to snorkel at the reef.
So many fish! It’s like swimming in an aquarium at your dentist’s office.
The best way to get around is in a tuc-tuc. Very bumpy and very slow, but always very entertaining.
The only thing you feel like wearing other than a bathing suit. Kikoys! Men wrap around and wear them as skirt, women tie them up around their neck, to make a dress. I’ve accumulated hundreds over the years because of their amazing colors and uses.
Masaii bracelets from a previous safari trip.
