Belstaff – Pulled up to the Runway for Spring 2013
Belstaff is going to make you look as cool off the bike as they have on. The British brand was the first to make waxed jackets back in the 1920′s and specialized in all weather jackets for motorcyclists. Not any more! This year the brand has been transformed to encompass ready-to-wear and I have figured out at least three reasons to LOVE this brand. 1. They have Ewan McGreggor on their advertising campaigns. 2. They’re a British brand. 3. Their collection is off-the-charts cool and has kept their signature moto detailing.

Balmy over Burberry
I’m head-over-heels for the Fall 2012 Burberry Collection. A definite stand-out for me in Paris this week.

PARIS – Isabel Marant Fall 2012 Runway Show. As my flight bumped through partly rainy skies, onto the tarmac at Charles de Gaulle, I became anxious to see what the result of the show-down with my favorite designer, Isabel Marant, was going to be. And as the cooler than cool Parisian “IT” designer, once made us bet on the swaggering skinny girl, in ruffles and tassels, today she urges us to gamble on her locked & loaded cowgirl, hot-footing her way into the local Western Wear Store. But rest assured, this is not the same store as your grandma’s in the Old West. This store features studded and yoked cowgirl shirts, made fresh and edgy with ultra-suede cropped jeans. Laced and embroidered pieces add a Spanish matador drama. And her punk, strapped, ankle, cowboy boots are already at the top of my “Must Have” list for off the charts two-stepping this Fall.

Notes from a buyer: NY Fashion Week – Rag & Bone
Fall 2012 will bring the Urban Dweller a travelogue of layers, where East meets West. Where the shimmery tailoring of Indian prints intermingle with classic herringbone. Felted wool long coats are peppered with a barrage of arrows. And as the Urban Woman returns from this dynamic landscape, where polka dots bounce through vertical and horizontal stripes, she will discover that old stand-by, leather, is still there. Re-invisioned by the journey. Bring on the cold!
