We Did It!

On Saturday June 22nd, during Solstice and a full moon, I said “I do” to the man of my dreams, in front of all my favorite people from Kenya, England and the States. We were married at El Presidio Chapel in Santa Barbara and hosted our reception at our home in Mission Canyon. I wore Monique Lhuillier and Chanel and my handsome groom, John Varvatos and Paul Smith. I have to give special thanks to so many people and will do so in posts over the coming weeks, but just want to start by saying that Kim Curtis of Toast is my hero. She is probably the most talented florist and event planner I have ever met and a dream to work with. I cannot thank her enough for all her brilliance and hard work and for executing our vision so perfectly.

I Do!

I know, I know, I’m like a pen pal who never writes. I’m hoping that a home remodel and planning a wedding, all while running a business are good enough excuses and that all is not lost on my little blog. I’ve been intending to write more often, if that does anything for my case?

Well, to bring you up to speed, our home and garden are looking insanely gorgeous, thanks to a team of super talented local craftsmen. I’ll share pictures with you soon, so you can see what we’ve been up to.

And in other news, we’re getting married on Saturday!!!! As I type that, a butterfly flutters around in my belly and my hands get clammy. OMG!! It’s here! Friends and family have arrived, the garden has enough lights to light up the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center and there are swaths of white fabric as far as the eye can see. OMG! It’s finally here!

If I don’t get to write much in the coming days, I’ll try to at least post some pics of what’s happening. And, thanks for hanging in there with me while I took care of my crazy life. You beautiful fashionistas are the best. xoxo

Vintage table linens found in Newcastle by my awesome bridesmaid, Gail.

Our traditional Wedding Cake made by Sweet Lady Jane has been marinating in rum for the past month. We snuck a peek one day.

Vintage English china hand picked and collected all over Newcastle at flea markets. Thanks to, yup, you guessed it, my awesome bridesmaid, Gail (and her sisters).

More of the vintage china we’ll be using at the wedding. It all arrived from England in one piece!

Our ring designer, Sylva Yepremian of SN Queens┬ádesigned these beauties and she asked if they could be my, “something borrowed”. Ummm, YES!!! Vintage diamonds and pearls.

The color palette for the bridesmaids and groomsmen.

My beautiful DIANI family gave me a gift card to La Perla! Oooh La La…..Puuurrrr….

My wedding dress by the crazy talented, Monique Lhuillier. It’s the first dress I tried on and I’ve been dreaming about it ever since.
