Saipua Visit – Brooklyn, NY

If I didn’t have the job I have (which I love), I dream of having the life of Sarah Ryhayen, owner of Saipua, florist, soap and candle maker and farm owner. I’ve been meaning to make the pilgrimage to Brooklyn to her little jewel box of a space for a while and, although during the biggest snow storm of the winter in NYC wasn’t the most ideal time, it was the time I ended up going. It was everything I imagined and more. If you follow Sarah’s blog, she explains that she was becoming disenchanted with the selection of flowers at the local markets, so decided to buy a farm in upstate NYC and start growing her own for her booming business and also sell wholesale to other florists. She doesn’t sugar coat the fact that it’s been brutally hard working a farm, especially during the winter, but the beauty she creates is undeniable and adds so much aesthetically to her world and those around her. Follow her here and here and you can find her soaps here (they make your bathroom smell divine).

A Valentine’s arrangement on it’s way out the door to a very lucky lady.

Growing up on the farm, the barn wood interior walls brought back many good memories! The flowers and displays are beautiful! I can understand why you enjoyed the visit. So good to see your blog again in my inbox…I have missed you! 🙂
